Leslie's Eulogy

Leslie Burke: A Rare and Remarkable Person

Leslie Burke was what Terry Goodkind (author of the Sword of Truth series) would have called a “very rare person”. She had a zest for life and an indomitable spirit which could not be denied. As she once told her good friend Jess Aarons: “Nothing crushes us!”
Coupled with her free spirit, she had an active imagination, which perfectly complemented her creative nature. Hers was the kind of imagination that reminded all who knew her that anything was possible; as long as you keep your mind wide open.
As a friend she was loyal and as a child she was exuberant. She never complained about how difficult life could sometimes become and she never once spoke an unkind word to anyone. Most endearing of all her traits, though, was the fact that she never, ever judged anyone unfairly. She always saw everyone for who they were and she never tried to fit in with the crowd. She was an individual, in the truest sense of the word. She was the very embodiment of freedom, wonder and life.
Leslie Burke truly was a rare and remarkable person.
